The Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center is a phased expansion to the California Science Center located in Los Angeles, CA. The primary purpose of the expansion is to provide a permanent home for the Space Shuttle Endeavor. Airplanes, satellites, rockets, and associated artifacts will also be displayed in a 188,00 ft2 permanent exhibition space.

The shuttle will be displayed vertically, as if ready for launch. The roof accommodates the height with an iconic form visible from much of Los Angeles. L+U developed a number of lighting approaches, including kinetic star patterns, to mark the location in the city and to celebrate the shuttle housed below.
