office and lab retrofit

This major retrofit project converted an existing 500,000 sf shopping mall into offices and experimental laboratories. Loisos + Ubbelohde worked with the design team and the client to deliver high quality, flexible lighting using Enlightened controls. We also provided consulting on introducing daylight into large floorplates through new courtyards for biophilic and wayfinding performance. The project goals of highly flexible spaces, a rapid design-build process and occupant visual comfort were foremost in the selection and mock-up of selected "workhorse" fixtures for the lighting design. The design also responds to the corporate guidelines for visual acuity and comfort performance.
